The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love the pacing of a Dan Brown novel. He keeps you turning pages. This book was filled with his usual suspenseful mystery imbued with interesting trivia about secret societies and symbols. Brown's villains are my favorite part of his novels. They are creepy but believably intelligent and cunning enough to keep you wondering how the hero will escape the latest trap. The ending was a little anticlimactic, but it was still a very good read.

The Lost Symbol and Dan Brown does deliver, but not quite like A&Ds and DVC. The novel is exciting and at times cannot put the book down. However, at other times is drags-on especially towards the end. I feel as though the royal blood line in DVC is more believable than the revelation in the Lost Symbol. To finish with some high notes, The antagonist in The Lost Symbol is well constructed and extremely demented. My favorite antagonist out of the Robert Lagdon series. Lastly, Dan Brown does a remarkable job infusing history into his novel and provides insight into the darker side of American History.
